Driver Conduct and Penalty Policy

3 min read

Grunber operates as a marketplace that connects customers with independent junk haulers. To maintain the quality of our network, we implement a strike system for all service providers. Failure to follow these guidelines results in penalties that can lead to permanent removal from the platform.

1. Property Damage and Insurance Requirements #

Drivers are 100% responsible for any damage caused to a customer’s property. This includes damage to floors, walls, doorways, or any other part of the premises.

Required Equipment #

You must have the necessary tools to remove items safely. Using improper methods to move heavy objects is a violation of our standards. For example, moving a piano requires specific equipment like furniture dollies and floor runners. You must never slide or push heavy items directly across a floor. Doing so causes permanent damage and leads to immediate strikes or account suspension.

Insurance Responsibility #

Grunber is an intermediary platform. We do not provide insurance coverage for the services you perform. It is mandatory for every driver to carry their own commercial liability insurance. If an accident occurs, you must handle the claim through your own provider. Operating without active insurance puts your business and your account at risk.

2. Proper Disposal and Prohibited Items #

Grunber is committed to responsible waste management and environmental sustainability. Illegal dumping is strictly prohibited. You must never leave items in unauthorized areas, public spaces, or private property without permission. Any instance of illegal dumping will result in an immediate strike and potential permanent removal from the platform.

Disposal Priority #

We prioritize eco-friendly solutions to reduce landfill waste. You should follow this order for every job:

  • Donation: Take items in good condition to local charities or donation centers.
  • Recycling: Take scrap metal, electronics, and cardboard to licensed recycling facilities.
  • Licensed Disposal: If an item cannot be donated or recycled, it must be taken to a professional transfer station or landfill.

You must ensure every item collected through our platform is handled through these official channels.

Hazardous Waste #

Our local haulers are not authorized to transport hazardous materials. This includes chemicals, paints, oils, batteries, and any toxic substances. If you accept or dispose of hazardous waste through a job booked on our platform, your account will be reviewed for immediate termination.

3. Reliability and No-Show Policy #

Customers schedule their day around the pickup window. If you accept a job, you are expected to arrive at the agreed time. If you fail to show up or disappear without notifying support, you will receive a strike. In case of a genuine emergency, you must contact our support team immediately so we can assist the customer.

4. Professionalism and Conduct #

We expect professional behavior at all times. This includes polite communication and honoring the pricing established through the platform. Any reports of harassment, aggressive behavior, or attempts to charge extra fees outside the app will be investigated.

The Strike System #

We use a three-strike policy to ensure accountability:

  • First Strike: You will receive a formal warning and guidance on how to improve your service.
  • Second Strike: Your account will be suspended temporarily for a performance review.
  • Third Strike: Your account will be permanently deactivated from the Grunber platform.

Our goal is to support the best haulers in the industry. By following these rules, you help us keep the platform safe and reliable for everyone.
